Great Minds Sound Alike...

Owen Thomas and Lily-May Young, songwriting production team from opposite sides of the British Isles and opposite ends of the social spectrum. The danger of these two worlds colliding was remote, but inevitably (and somewhat bizarrely, but that's another story) it did. The impact should have bought total carnage, but as Owen's vacant scowl met Lily's relentless babble, a rare and wonderful thing occurred...Musical Synergy.

Since pooling their musical talents Owen and Lily, aka T.Y, have strummed, plucked and modulated their way into the songwriting world, winning awards from the BBC to VH1, collab-ing with Houston's Music World Ent. (Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Ray J) LA's Jae Staxx (Will Smith, Eve, Danity Kane) and writing with Hit writers across the globe including Allan Rich (Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart) and Jud Friedman (Chaka Khan, Jessica Simpson, LeAnn Rimes, NSYNC). T.Y Have had cuts with EMI, MySpace records & Talltale Records UK.

Aside from T.Y's exploits in the record industry they also have a firm presence in the Film and TV world (or La la land as they often refer to it!). You can hear their music across all the major US networks (ABC, CW, FOX, CMT, MTV.) and T.Y tunes have also been featured in numerous films including Miley Cirus' "The Last Song", Jessica Simpson's "Blonde Ambition", Aaron Eckhart's "Bill", Seth Rogan's "Zack and Miri make a porno".

Where it all began....

In 2005 this British songwriting duo embarked on a fleeting 2 month tour of the USA. Straight from the rural fields of Dorset and the inner city boroughs of Hackney, London, Owen and Lily set upon Nashville, Los Angeles and Houston Texas to experience an insight into the beauty of the US songwriting culture. Thousand of miles driven and hundreds of co-writes later the pair wound up in a compound that was Music World Entertainment - the home to Matthew Knowles and the Beyonce family. At the time Music World Ent. was partnered with the UK company Sanctuary Music Publishing and through this partnership T.Y caught the attention of Sanctuary UK CEO - Jamie Arlon (Ray Davies, Celine Dion, Cher).

Unfortunately due to the rather rapid demise of the Sanctuary Group T.Y's affiliation with the mega publishing company was somewhat brief, however, they continued to cultivate their newly nested relationship with Jamie Arlon, who after parting ways with Sanctuary Group set up new company Arlon Music. With this new relationship came several single song publishing deals receiving placements on records across the UK and Europe.

Although success was afoot in the UK - Owen & Lily had itchy feet and still high on their US excursion the previous year the dynamic duo decided to pack their bags and head stateside, only this time without a return ticket. Destination La La Land. And what a place to be: LOS ANGELES california - quite a stark contrast from where they had independently grown up - but full enough of creatives and music melting pots that T.Y set up shop (well "studio" but that doesn't sound as good!), and now some 4 years later, are still basking in the sunshine writing, producing and composing to their hearts content. The mission from here on out? To make music, that makes a difference and speaks in ways a thousand words can't replicate. T.Y are fast becoming the first choice for the record, T.V and film industries alike. They write music with heart, soul and integrity.

"We try to find the heartbeat of every project we get our hands on."
